<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">Every year, the National Fire Service College, Nagpur conducts the 33-week long sub-officers course. Twenty-one weeks are spent at the College/ RTC and 12 weeks are dedicated to practical attachment at major fire services in the country. Admission is conducted through an All India Entrance Examination. This year, the exam will be held on November 21, 2004 at Kolkata, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai and Nagpur.
Candidates for the year 2005 will be selected at these centres only.<br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Eligibility</span><br /><br />To be eligible, one should have completed their HSC or 10+2 or an equivalent exam. Applicants should be able to read, write, speak and comprehend instructions in English as well as in Hindi. One should be between 18 years and 23 years of age as on January 1, 2005. However, the upper age limit is flexible by five years for members of the SC/ ST categories or for those who are already working with recognised fire services. The height should be 165 cm or more. It can be 160 cm for candidates from hilly regions such as Gurkhas, Nagaland, Garhwal and Assam among others. The weight should not be less than 50 kg and chest should be 81 cm unexpanded and 86 cm expanded.<br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Exam</span><br /><br />The 32nd All India Entrance Examination will be held on November 21, 2004 in two sessions on the same day. The question papers will be printed bilingually, in Hindi and English and candidates may answer the paper in either of the two languages.<br /><br />The first session will cover general English and general knowledge. The second session will test general science and mathematics. The level of knowledge required to handle the examination is of the 10+2 or intermediate level and question papers will be of the objective variety.<br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Selection</span><br /><br />All applicants must appear for the All India Entrance Examination. Those selected for the course, through the overall merit list will have to undergo examination by medical officers designated by the college. Admission will be granted to candidates on their overall order of merit, based on their performance in the written examination and medical fitness. A total of 24 candidates will be selected from the All India Entrance Examination. <br /><br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Procedure</span><br /><br />The advertisements announcing the examination and format of application were published in several leading daily newspapers across India on August 13, 2004. The ads were also published in Employment News issues of the same period. <br /><br />Applications should be made in the prescribed form and mailed to the National Fire Service College, Nagpur-440010 latest by September 20, 2004. No TA/DA would be paid by the college.</div> </div>
